How long does it take for the average Manager Level person to find a job? I have a friend who has been looking for a job as a Sr. Accountant and he is getting very discouraged. How long was your last job search and do you have any suggestions on good recruiters or good ways to find a job?

Monster, Hot Jobs, Job Planet, Craigslist, Backpage.com, a few others. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to look for job search sites online? I am NOT looking for work at home stuff nor am I looking for door to door sales crap or anything of that nature. IF you live outside of the USA please do not respond as it will not help me. I know there is unemployment benefit where they will pay your previous income for 2 weeks until you get a job. But who does that search? Is there such a Government program where they will try to help you get a job? If so, where in Houston can I go to get my interview so they would help me find a job? what are teh requirements? What if Im not from Houston per se but lives there? just give me as much info as much as possible, I need a job.

I have been unemployed for the past 3 months. Before that I was employed full time for the last 11 years and earned my bachelor’s degree in managment a few months ago. During my unemployment period I have been applying for jobs and have had interviews but have not landed a job as of yet. I look back and see that I have not been aggressive enough in my job search and need to drastically pick up the pace. Is is acceptable to personally go to the companies and ask for an interview? I need to get a job ASAP.

I want provide this service for free to people who are looking for a job, but i want to be different because most places that offer job assistance give you a cookie cutter resume and teach you how to fill out an application like you don’t know how to do that already. Then they just sit you in front of a computer and you are basically on your own. I want to take it on a case by case basis and start from where they are, instead of showing someone how to do something they already know.
